Guidance for applicants

Cherwell District Council is offering grants of up to £2,000 for capital/revenue for community groups to support residents with the cost of living.

This form should be completed for grant funding to support Cherwell residents with the increases in the cost of living by providing any of the following:
The provision or storage of food, or developing food activities involving cooking, growing (e.g. edible gardens) or nutrition/food education. Ideally these will directly link to the delivery of the Cherwell Food Action Plan.

Additionally, the grant can be used to purchase equipment or hygiene products to reduce the cost of living or help deliver a food/warmth project (e.g. air fryers, slow cookers, electric blankets, blankets, hot water bottles, kettles, toasters, LED lighting, draught excluders, cleaning products, toiletries, period products).

The funding for these grants is to support communities in the Cherwell District only.

The grant programme is open to not-for-profit organisations only. The grants are not available to individuals or for profit making commercial enterprises.

The following categories of applicant are NOT eligible to apply:

•Individuals
•Private businesses
•Religious bodies where the monies will be used for religious purposes or religious buildings
•Political parties or political lobbying

Applicant organisations must have a written constitution and bank account in the name of the organisation and provide audited accounts (where applicable)

Grants will be assessed and scored linked to the delivery of the priority areas set out below with consideration for the number of beneficiaries and impact of the proposed project.

Applications for the second tranche of this funding close on Sunday 18th January. Successful applicants will be notified within 2 weeks of this closing date.

Copies of supplier invoices or other supporting documentation will be required to evidence your claim. CDC will not pay third parties or the applicant’s staff, contractors or suppliers direct.
